Hi, and welcome to my messy collection of thoughts.
I’m Grace Pilet Jacobsen, a manager by day and haphazard creative (and mba student) by night.
I am a mess of experiences, places, and people’s stories. While I often attempt to appear that I have everything together, I often feel like a kaleidoscope of plans and emotions. This blog is where much of that is flushed out and examined.
I consider myself an ex-missionary kid, and forever third culture kid. I lived in Mongolia for some time, studied Arabic while in Jordan, and taught English in China. While living abroad is in my blood, my husband and I intend to call Baltimore, Maryland home for the foreseeable future. We are inspired daily by the people and culture of “Bmore,” and feel fortunate enough to belong to it now.
I have recently begun exploring the darker parts of my experience with mainstream evangelicalism and the difficulties of that identity therein. I aim to be transparent in all my words and posts, so if you happen to read any of this and are offended, do know that is not my intent. I wish to amplify the true nature of Jesus, but also call out the pain that is often caused “in Jesus’ name.”
As this blog has functioned as more of a diary than anything else over the years, you will find there are some deeply personal stories and lessons throughout it. However, you will also find collections of travels, fun facts I’ve picked up over the years, and silly anecdotes about being married to a bearded man. Currently, I invite you to tag along on my journey as I explore my story of being (dis)graced.
Thanks for dropping by, and leave a comment or two so I know you were here!
